India draw first blood..

It was an important game for Dhoni & Co. After the humiliating test series defeat at home, India were supposed to come back hard. Players like Dhoni, Yuvraj had to prove a point and help India recover from the ‘Off-field’ mess. (Captaincy issues, dropping players in media reports etc.)

The match started with India winning the toss and electing to field. To my surprise, the 11 players that I had predicted for today’s game in my previous post, 9 were in the playing XI. (A great way to start my career as a part of selection committee 😛 )

England started in a great fashion with Hales and Wright making the bulk of runs. The pie-chucker – Yuvi turned the game for India with 3 quick wickets and brought India back in the game. India required to score 158 in 20 overs.

India had a blistering start but soon lost 2 quick wickets. Then again, Punjab-da-Putter came to the crease and smashed some lovely drives for four and some massive sixes. This helped India recover and get back on track. Later it was Dhoni & Raina who comfortably took India home.

It was a great game, though at one point it was like, England would score 180+, but thanks to Yuvi who helped the team with the bat and ball.

All in all a confidence booster for India. They need to win 3 more T20s(1 vs England and 2 vs Pak) and then they might get to No.1 spot in T20s. Let’s hope the same happens…
