RTI to answer how much ‘Modi Sarkaar’ spent on Obama’s visit.

26th January, 2015, New Delhi: President Barack Obama aka ‘POTUS’ was the Chief Guest for the Republic Day Parade. This definitely was a great achievement for India and something to boast about for the Modi Sarkaar. People flocked like herd of sheeps to the Rajpath to get a glimpse of POTUS who is dubbed as ‘The Most Powerful Person‘ in the world in chilly and rainy morning. Even though the parade was marred by the rain, the relations between India And The United States reached a new level with many treaties signed.

Prior to POTUS visit, the government was in full swing and left no stone unturned to ensure the success of the event. From bringing up the Palam Airport in shape for the Airforce One to land to ensuring a secured and luxurious stay of POTUS contingent at the uber ITC Maurya.

But amidst all of this, I was more curious to know the behind the scenes action. From setting up of CCTVs in the city to deploying thousands of cops all over and turning the city into a fortress. Well How much did Modi Sarkaar spend on Obama’s visit ? The next thing I know is that I had filed a RIGHT TO INFORMATION in the Prime Minister’s Office to know the actual expenditure made in Obama’s entire visit.

The RTI vide application number – PMOIN/R/2015/60224 – was filed on 28th January, couple of days after the President departed to the UAE. The application as of now is doing rounds of various departments from Ministry of External Affairs to Ministry of Defence.

Well, I hope I get what I’m actually looking for. I also urge the youngsters to exercise their Right To Information to unearth the truth.

Stay tuned for updates.
