Maggi Welcome Kit has arrived – #WelcomeBackMaggi

Six months back, on June 3rd the first batch of Maggi Noodles were banned by the Delhi government due to high levels of MSG – Monosodium Glutamate and high levels of Lead found in the product. Soon the whole nation went on a banning spree with almost all the states banning the instant noodles within a span of a week as per the tests conducted by the FSSAI. Nestle on its part always kept it clear that the noodles contained lead “well below” the permissible limits, even then the company was dragged to the court without even a show cause notice and was asked to take the product off the shelves overnight. And the entire Instant Food industry took a blow not just noodles. Some other brands did take this as a moment of fame and soon came up with our-noodles-are-safe advertisements.  Soon after fresh tests, the court allowed Maggi to sell noodles ONLY after its latest batch passed the tests. And arguably they did, and Maggi was back on shelves, a great Diwali Gift for allWhen the fresh stocks of Maggi was stacked in the hall of a posh hotel for press conference on Dhanteras the CEO was heard saying “Mooh Maggi Kijiye…” going by the famous phrase “Mooh Meetha Kijiye…”

Maggi is finally back, and with a “dhamaka” ! The company tied up with Snapdeal to sell the noodles in a Limited Edition – Maggi Welcome Kits through the former’s online platform. The kit was sold as Flash Sale – meaning a small stock put up on sale for a limited period of time. Well the first sale went off on 12th November and the flash sale was over in less than 5 minutes with over 60,000 welcome kits sold ! And guess what , we at Socialmaharaj got hold of one of the kits and Snapdeal delivered it right now ! Yaay !!

The Maggi Welcome Kit consists of 12 packets of 70g each. The box delivered was in the trademark Maggi Yellow color with Snapdeal’s Logo and tagline: Dil Ki Deal written all over it. Upon opening the box, there were few goodies placed on top of the maggi packets. Felt so good to see Maggi ! At one point it seemed like a typical Bollywood movie scene where I opened the suitcase and found Maggi stacked up instead of currency notes 😛 😀

In the end, very happy to see Maggi Noodles back and bringing joy to at least a billion people. Without Maggi things were different, no more late night Maggi chats, no hiding-in-hostel-and-making-maggi scenes and much much more. (Reminds me of Kangana’s dialogue from Tanu Weds Manu Returns – Zindagi Jhand hogayi thi :P) Maggi has not only bought the product to the market but has definitely brought joy. Though it hasn’t been fully launched in some states, 8 to be precise, Nestle is going all guns blazing to ‘dump’ the fresh stock in the market right from the smallest kirana store to the biggest of hyper-marts. Thanks to Nestle’s amazing logistics and muscle power that helped get back Maggi !!

Finally I can say, Main aur Meri Maggi !! 🙂
