Why use Facebook Ads

One of the best things that I like about Facebook Ads is that you get to decide who sees your adverts. You can decide the target audience. It’s highly customize-able and easy. One can choose from geographical locations, gender, specific interests, age and a whole bunch of other things that will ensure your adverts are targeted precisely to your target audience.

Secondly, the adverts are approved almost instantly. They do mention that it will take upto 24 hrs for the advert to approve, but more often than not the ads are approved in matter of few hours. This feature of Facebook ads lets you take advantage of reaching out to your customers quickly. So if you have something related to a trending topic, then go ahead and create an Ad and see your content liked and shared.

Another great feature I like of Facebook Ads is the Spending Limit. Since most payments are done through Credit Card and you are billed at the end of the billing cycle decided earlier. Many a times you actually don’t know how much you have spent on the ads and eventually end up spending more. Defining a spending limit is a great way to take control of things. The moment you hit the limit for that particular billing cycle, Facebook Ads will immediately stop serving your ads ensuring you don’t overshoot your budget.

Indian Users are worried about the cost and paying in dollars is something many are still uncomfortable with. Facebook Ads allow you to pay in Indian Rupees (INR) so that makes it easy for many. The minimum amount per day is 40Rs. So if you create an ad campaign to run for 3 days you’ll end up paying exactly 120 rupees. And with that, you can easily get 300 – 400 likes (in my experience) within 3 days.

Lastly, Facebook Ads have a variety of options in terms of advertising. You can either promote a post (the most common) or you can promote your page. Apart from these Facebook Ads allows you to promote your website and drive traffic to your website. Another feature of Facebook Ads is that it helps you promote your Call to Action (CTA) too. So if you have a Sign Up, Buy etc. button, it’ll help you promote that too.

Setup Facebook Ad in 60 seconds.

  1. To setup a Facebook Ad, first decide the post that you want to promote. Make sure the post has a good picture and text so that people would be compelled to read.
  2. Once decide, hit the promote button.
  3. Setup up the target audiencelocation, age, gender, interests etc.
  4. Decide the Campaign Durationchoose from once day to months based on your needs.
  5. Decide your budget.
  6. Confirm the payment mode.
  7. Hit Submit and wait for an approval notification from Facebook.

Once your advert is live, you can track how it is doing. If you think it’s doing great, you might want to increase your budget or pause the campaign mid-way if your post isn’t. Further the analytics that you get through Facebook Ads is very helpful as it provides useful insights so that you can tailor your future campaigns or posts.

Tips to get Maximum benefit from Facebook Ads

Based on my experience with Facebook Ads here are a few tips that might help you get the maximum benefit from it.

  • It is observed that a high number of the users are online usually during the evenings. So that should be the time you should be targeting.
  • Weekends are the most fruitful times for post adverts, so it would best to schedule a campaign over the weekend starting Friday Evening and ending Sunday night.
  • Spread your advertising budget evenly over a month. Say if you budget is 500 rupees per month, create four campaigns for 4 weekends for the maximum benefit.

So that’s all I think is there to know about Facebook Ads. Once you do start using it, you will understand various metrics that will help you fine-tune your campaigns. I hope that this post will help many of you who are either beginners or haven’t yet utilized Facebook Ads till now.
