Today I’ll talk about one company that has conquered the world with its quality products at budget prices. I’m talking about Xiaomi, a company that grew manifold since its inception in 2010. Xiaomi was well-known for its MIUI ROM that generated some buzz among Android enthusiasts. Slowly and steadily the company expanded its portfolio and forayed into Mobiles, some of which I own include Redmi 1s and Redmi Prime 2. Soon it entered the smart devices market with its Mi Band and with the announcement of Xiaomi Drone and Mi Laptop, it’s getting bigger and better.

Another Xiaomi Device that I recently purchased was the  Mi Power bank 20000mAh. One thing that I would like to point out is that Xiaomi would be the only company that has  more of its fake products than it produces ! Well yes, if you follow the brand you’ll know that most of the Mi power banks are out of stock most of the time, then how do online retailers have it in stock ? Plus the original one costs about 1.3k while you get it for a mere 500Rs ? That was the reason I bought the Mi power bank 20000mAh from Mi’s website during the recently concluded Mi Anniversary Sale. So here’s a quick review of the Mi Power bank 20000mAh.

Even you would agree with the fact that Xiaomi products look good and class and this one too does justice to it. The Mi Power bank 20000mAh has a rich rugged plastic body that provides better grip. If you remember most of its other power banks have a smooth aluminum finish. The power bank is huge compared to its older counterparts – justified due to its monstrous 20000mAh battery. Also one of the highlight of the product is that it is the only Mi Power bank that comes with 2 USB ports, so you can simultaneously charge multiple devices at one go. During the offer, a micro USB charging cable along with a LED light was provided free with the power bank.

Performance of Mi Power bank

With a capacity of 20000mAh, Mi Power bank is a winner hands down. It has the ability to full charge a Nexus 5 8 times, an iPad mini 3 times and a Mac that supports USB Type C charging. That certainly is too much power. But with such humongous battery, it does take a lot of time to charge the power bank. It came with 50 percent charge out of the box and took almost 10 hrs for full charge using my Nexus 5 charger. So that makes it close to a day to full charge the power bank. As of the charging capability and speed, it does charge devices at a quick pace. And it does charge devices fast, just a while back my Nexus 5 was running with 19% battery and in less than an hour it was fully charged !

Final Verdict

There are a lot of power banks available in the market – PNY, Asus, Sony, One Plus etc. but the Mi Power bank does a great job in terms of the capacity and the overall design. If you are always on the lookout for a charger,  the Mi Power bank 20000mAh is the perfect choice. However it does take quite a bit to charge the power bank itself. So in the end it’s your call – Power or Speed ?
