It was a great way to take a lead in test series. But in no way we can say that INDIA crush Australia. India has been a favorite opponent forย debutantesย and tail-enders to notch up their career best scores.
To start off, Dhoni has certainly silenced the critics and it couldn’t have been better. He was on the attack right from the start of his innings. Saw him stepping out to Lyon that resulted in Clarke putting back the field and going on the defensive. What followed it was carnage. Kohli too played a gem of innings, but if he would have eased a bit, he too could have scored a double ton. But all well.

The pacers couldn’t get much help from the pitch but the spinners did a perfect job, Ashwin taking 7 in the first innings along with Jadeja. But Harbhajan did disappoint a bit. (He did take 2 wickets in the second innings)ย but being one of the world’s best spinners, you want to be taking wickets of Batsmen and not the tail enders.
Neverthless, Australia will certainly have some home work to do. Most likely they might include an extra spinner in the likes of Doherty. On the positive front, their lower-order batsmen, especially Henriques and Lyon did show some resistance in the second innings and made sure that India did bat again and thus avoiding an innings defeat. And their captain, Michael Clarke once again proved that he is a great test match by scoring a century in the first innings. But he should have walked back, when he wasn’t given out by Dharamsena off the bowling of Jadeja.
As I said, today was my first day of exam and was pretty well. I just wished if India could have won yesterday so would have studied peacefully. All in all a great over all performance by India. Would like to see Ojha replace Bhajji in the next game, but the team might go on unchanged.Next match starts 2nd March –ย will be free from exams then ๐
Exam tomorrow, so need to get back to studies ! Chillax and enjoy ๐
