Watched the heated debate on NDTV Left, Right and Center last night hosted by Ms. Nidhi Razdan. The discussion was about the policing fault in Delhi that led to the gang rape of a 23 year old girl a couple of days back.
Is is really a policing fault ? It is definitely !!
Women in the city feel much safe when in a ย company of a male companion rather than asking a Delhi policeman for help (As said by Ms. Gul Panag on NDTV). She brought the real fault in the policing system.
According to the laws, the punishment for gang rape is 10 years of imprisonment to Life imprisonment. But is it enough ?
The answer is No ! Most of the time these devils are out on bail and will ย be roaming free. Just like the case of the girl when acid was thrown on her face and the the youths arrested and let free. The punishment for gang rape or any kind ofย harassmentย to the women must not be only life imprisonment. The act of this goons is near to a murder. It’s not easy to cope up with the incidents for a girl.
Death penalty must be given to anyone who harrasses women. From passing of lewd comments to rape, in all cases death penalty must be given.
