Yesterday was Diwali and while reading “Our offices will remain closed today, so there will not be any edition tomorrow” in yesterday’s newspaper, I wondered how would my day start tomorrow !
Everyday its a routine for me to stand at the door and wait for the paper boy to give me the newspaper. It might sound stupid, but its like I MUST get the newspaper every morning ! But today was different, there was utter silence as people were well asleep after last night’s ballistic celebration.ย I was aware that the paper guy won’t be coming today, so switched on the tv and hopped on to a news channel.
I don’t know why but I didn’t enjoy it ! Its not that I don’t watch news channel, but its just that it can’t replace the newspaper ! The feeling of reading newspaper is of utmost pleasure and if you are the first person to read the crisp newspaper then its even more pleasurable ! An hour is what I usually take to go through the newspaper and today that one hour seemed like a week ! I wandered here and there, checked the news on the TOI app on my iPad, but still a newspaper is a newspaper and nothing can replace it !
its true a news paper is a newspaper and gadgets cannot be replaced the old tradition is yet followed
