Raise The Bar Review – Raising The Spirits in Hyderabad

Ever since I’ve moved to Hyderabad, I’ve seen the city expand at lightning speeds. The stretch between Mindspace junction and Biodiversity was barren. Today we have Ikea along with other towering skyscrapers. Areas like Gowlidoddy, Tellapur, Khajaguda were considered outskirts. However, today it’s a different story.

From gated communities to schools and restaurants, every area in Hyderabad is happening. And Raise The Bar is the newest lively lounge in Hyderabad. A few weeks ago I was invited for a prelaunch lunch at Raise The Bar. This blog post is going to my Raise The Bar review based on the food and drinks I had.

Khajaguda comes to life with Raise The Bar

If you work or stay near Nanakramguda or Raidurgam, you definitely know Khajaguda. It connects the Gachibowli main road from Raidurgram junction to ORR road at Nanakramguda. I travelled a lot from this area and have seen it grow. However, what was missing was a lively place for weekends.

Raise The Bar has filled that gap. The newest lounge in Hyderabad is located in Khajaguda, right above Tonique and opposite Good Vibes Cafe. Housed on the 4th floor, the lounge greets you with a LIT alley that leads to the lounge. A well-stocked bar takes up the centre area along with a DJ deck at the side. They have comfortable seating spaces across the cafe.

You can choose to sit near the window and watch the city lights or choose to sit on the comfy sofas and enjoy the live match. If you want to let your hair down, the dance floor is for you! All in all, Raise The Bar is going to up the ante in the area and surely one of the liveliest places.

Global Menu at Raise The Bar – Review

Once you settle down, take out your smartphone and point to the QR code to get the menu. The menu is quite expansive and you might get tired of scrolling! Inspired by global cuisine, there is a variety of items to choose from. Be it Mexican, Arabian, Thai or your beloved desi, the menu at Raise The Bar has got everything you need!

Plenty to choose from Salads & Starters

We started with the classic Caesar Salad that was loaded with veggies and walnuts. The dressing paired with this was pretty good and elevated the taste of the salad. I didn’t eat much as I didn’t want to fill myself up.

For starters, we had Spinach Cheese Cigarolls, Kung Pao Waterchestnut, Beetroot Galauti and Falafel N Aioli. Spinach Cheese Cigarolls were pretty good. There was a crunch in every bite that followed the cheesy affair. The Sweet Chilli dip was also bang on. Kung Pao Waterchestnut was nicely done. It was crisp and coated nicely in the sauce. Falafel and Aioli was the classic Falafel and Hummus platter. I’m a Falafel lover and this was pretty good. Beetroot Galauti had a pretty good texture and melted in the mouth. It was rich in flavours and taste as it was adequately spiced.

Pizzas & Mains

The next dishes that we had were the Thin crust Truly Italian Pizza along with a serving of Flamed Cottage Cheese Slab. The thin crust pizza was pretty different from the others that I’ve had. It had cherry tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, olives, peppers, broccoli and Arugula. The crust was like biscuit, and that with the topping was pretty good. If you like thin-crust pizzas, you’ll like this too.

Flamed Cottage Cheese slab is a big slab of Paneer grilled with herbs, stuffed with veggies put on a bed of creamy mash and veggies. It was quite a unique preparation that I had. Paneer was nicely grilled and the flavours were quite different. It was good for a change from the regular tandoori preparation. Raise The Bar also has a range of noodles, rice bowls, tandoori platter and mains to choose from. However, since I was the only vegetarian, I couldn’t try all of it.

Drinks & Desserts

What’s a lounge without a well-stocked bar? The bar is well equipped to quench your thirst. Whether you are a tippler or teetotaler, the bartenders can mix up some amazing drinks. I started with the Basil and Sprite based drink that had almost no sugar and was perfect on taste. The next drink I tried was Watermelon based aerated drink along with watermelon, mango drink and a classic virgin mojito. No complaints about the drinks, they are good at it.

Coming to desserts, they have limited options but quite unique. From liquor-infused gulab jamuns and cinnamon rolls to the teetotaler version of the same. We were served the classic brownie with ice cream along with Rum Apple Cinnamon rolls. The brownie with ice cream was classic and no complaints about it. Next time probably, I’d want to try the jello shots, cheesecake and tiramisu.
