Philips had invaded most of the home with their amazing colour televisions, music players and what not. But in the recent past the giant had suffered huge loses due to increasing competition by the Asian counterparts and the korean brothers – L.G and Samsung.
Philips battle to survive in this competitive business has come to an end. The company having decided to completely sell its stake. The company will now focus on personal care products and the health care products. It had been a tough task to lower the costs and compete with the budget electronic appliances from Samsung and L.G. These companies are the upfront choice for most the world’s population.
I remember having a Philips colour television and watching Micky mouse on it. (It was almost 10-15 years ago.) I also have a b/w philips tv and is still working great. The best part of the company’s products were its life and durability. Imagine even after 10-15 years I can still hook up the tv to a DTH connection and violaย – I can very well use it ! I also had a cassette player (two in one as some might call it).But due to the invasion of CDs and DVDs, I had to get rid of it !
Well, an era has come to an end. The products from this giant will be off the shelves and its products will become antiques !
