This one song is something I’ll will cherish forever and all of my batch mates would definitely agree with me. We take a lot of pride in singing this. This is our school’s – New Era High School, Panchgani – school song. And being a proud member of the School Choir (yes I was able to sing :P) singing our school song gave a completely different feeling.
So to relive our memories, here is the school song, and I bet all the who know this will not read it but sing it ! So sing along…
In Japan, Afghanistan, Peru and Zanzibar
With bongos and marimbas, banjos and guitar
People are singing, havenโt you heard
A new Day is dawning, we have brand new words
โThe world is but one country,โ weโre learning this today
โAnd all mankind its citizens,โ these words will show the way
For all of us to fully learn our talents and worth
So we can build a new world here on Earth
We have all been likened to leaves upon one tree
Flowers in one garden, waves upon one sea
Brilliant shining stars, radiant candles, rays of light
Birds singing in the garden day and night
Make the nations one, let religions all agree
Be occupied with service to all humanity
Nothing less than unity can satisfy our minds
So tell the world about the oneness of mankind
In Japan, Afghanistan, Peru and Zanzibar
With bongos and marimbas, banjos and guitar
People are singing, havenโt you heard
A new Day is dawning, we have brand new words…
Below is a video clip from New Era High School Panchgani’s Annual Appreciation Day 2017 with the school choir(assuming it’s the choir) singing the school song.
