In school, we were a group of three friends, Shaurya, Kuljeet and I who were truly and madly in love with cricket. We, in fact, missed the school assembly once to play cricket in the classroom. It’s a different story as to what happened after that. We always used to hang out together and sneak out to the ground whenever we had a chance. However, Shaurya used to miss school as he would fall ill often. To ensure I didn’t fall ill that often, my mom used to give me milk and fruits, especially oranges to keep up my immunity.
Back then, all I read about Vitamin C in my science book was that oranges are a great source of this vitamin. But now I know that Vitamin C works by protecting our white blood cells from infections, thus boosting our immunity. This way it protects us from common infections. Since I understood the importance of Vitamin C in the body, both before and after infections, I ensured that I was eating nutritious and balanced food along with engaging in some physical activity.
Where to get your dose of Vitamin C?
