“Vision 2020″ a drawing competition that I participated in when I was in 2nd grade. It’s been decades since I won that competition. I remember painting a picture with a boy dreaming about cars, trucks and planes going from Earth to Mars. Well, I wasn’t completely wrong. NASA has already sent their rover to Mars and the day isn’t far away when we would have human settlement on Mars. Their Indian counterpart ISRO isn’t there yet but with their Chandrayaan 2 space mission, they are surely putting India in the elite list. A big moment for all of us indeed.ย
[New Post –> Vikram has Landed]
Chandrayaan 2 – the unmanned mission
Chandrayaan 2 is the first unmanned moon mission done by ISRO. It was launched on July 22, 2019 from Satish Dhawan Space Center using the GSLV Mark 3.ย I didn’t even know that one could actually see the launch live at the Space Center until I saw Gaurav Bhai’s video.ย It consists of the an orbiter, a lander and a rover. Vikram is the lander and Pragyan is the rover. It has taken about 14 days for the ISRO to not only reach the moon but also landing a rover on the south pole of the moon –ย a rare feat that no other country has achieved till date.ย And thanks to the buzz around Chandrayaan 2 landing, the same would be broadcast to people around the world so you can watch Chandrayaan 2 landing live stream.

Watch India create history with Chandrayaan 2
It is indeed a proud moment for all of us. Chandrayaan 2 is going to put India in one of the elite club of countries which has had unmanned missions on Moon. And apparently this is the most economical moon mission any country has ever done ! Though, I’m an early riser, tomorrow being Saturday (I wonder whether ISRO planned this so that they could get many eyeballs ? ๐ ) I’ll be hooked to the TV all night to witness history being made. Will you be there ? Share your thoughts below or tweet to me at @Atulmaharaj.
