Hyderabad Bloggers Panel Discussion at New Age Lit Fest

If you have been following me on Twitter or Instagram or even Facebook, you would be aware of what was I up to the last weekend. It was about 3 weeks ago when one of my blogger buddy called up and asked whether I would be able to attend a panel discussion on Blogging during the New Age Lit Fest organized in Sarath City Capital Mall in Hyderabad. (Blogging discussion in a Lit Fest that too in a mall !? That surely intrigued me) Since 17th November was a weekend I readily agreed. So this post will be just a round of all that happened at Hyderabad Bloggers Panel Discussion at New Age Lit Fest, Hyderabad

Hows and Whys of Blogging – Hyderabad Bloggers

I was a part of a panel with eminent bloggers on it. We had Vishal Fernandes who is an ace Lifestyle and Travel blogger. I had earlier met him during a food tasting session at Tea Trails, Banjara Hills. Then we had Chandana Munipalle who’s a fashion blogger (the first fashion blogger I met from Hyderabad). There was Aastha Maheswari who is a travel blogger and is CA by qualification ! And there were the well-known faces Anupama Dalmia and Namrata Sadhvani. Doesn’t the panel look amazing ? It indeed was. The panel was moderated by Maitabi Baneerji who aced it !

Blogging session in a mall at 11 am, I was a little skeptical whether who would join. But I was proved wrong, there about 20-30 people who did attend the event. Moreover the event was graced by Andrew Fleming who is the British Deputy High Commissioner for AP and Telangana. Also I was amazed to meet a fellow blogger who told she had been reading my blogs. Yaay ! We shared some wonderful insights into blogging and sustainable living – the niche of her blog. You can check it out here.

Peek into the Blogger’s Mind

(I’m picking this heading straight from the Newspaper title from Deccan Chronicle) The discussion started with each one of us sharing our experiences in Blogging. For me it was more about how it all began, the professor who sowed the blogging keeda in me which led to the start of my blogging journey. It then moved towards Content and how we as bloggers find and shape content for our readers. For me it was about, identifying common things that people might have issues withe and blog about it. For some like Namrataji, it was about her parenting experiences while for Anupamaji it was about the social issues she stood up to.

An interesting point came up about Blogging and Social Media for discussion. It was clear from the discussion that most of Hyderabad Bloggers believed that our blogs are to stay even if social media ceased to exist. Social Media is rather a tool that gives that push and extended visibility for our posts. The session ended with questions from the public where a couple of interesting questions were asked about how we managed time to blog and how we kept ourselves motivated. The answers to these was more about loving what you do. Because we love blogging, we are able to fit it in out busy schedules.

Calling it a day at the New Age Lit Fest

The session came to a close with Andrew addressing the crowd. I’ve been following him on Twitter for quite some time now and it was great to meet and greet him. Post that the mall head gave out bouquets and mementos to all the Hyderabad Bloggers on the panel. Overall, it was a wonderful, exciting and insightful session. As I’ve always said that blogging is more about meeting people and that’s what we exactly did. I got to meet so many amazing bloggers and loved listening to their exhilarating blogging journey. That’s all about the event. Thanks to SK-One by Chermas for sponsoring the event. SK-One is the new brand store by Chermas who are well known in the apparel field. The store is spread across a large area and has a good collection. Formal wear, party wear or traditional wear, they have it all under one roof.

On Sunday morning, one of my clients at work SMSed and congratulated me for being featured in Deccan Chronicle newspaper. The photo and the article is shared above 🙂 To know more anything about blogging, mention in the comments below or tweet to me at @Atulmaharaj.
