Having studied French in school and college, I’m always on the lookout for anything that is French – Words, Food or People. Though I haven’t been using French for quite some time now, I still know a decent bit. So when one of the cafes in Hyderabad decided to invite me, I was excited. Why ? Because it was from Enchante Cafe and Confectionery Film Nagar. So like always, this is going to be The Enchante Cafe Review post.
Fresh Ambiance at Enchante Cafe and Confectionery
Enchante in French loosely translates to “Nice to meet you“. And that had set my expectations. I have talked about this previously also that Jubilee Hills is a land of hidden cafes. Out of nowhere you will find a cafe amidst a posh residential area. That exactly is the case with Enchante Cafe and Confectionery. Located in Film Nagar, it’s easy to locate this place – thanks to the signages leading up to it. It’s a bungalow turned into a cafe. Pretty much like The Roastery Coffee House or United Kitchens of India.
However, the differentiating factor is that it provides 3 seating options. You can opt to sit the garden area in the open. It’s prefect for evenings (if the weather allows) Smoking is allowed here, so I’d suggest you to plan accordingly. The next place is the ground floor. It is located next to the coffee/dessert bar and the kitchen. The walls are filled with photo frames from various cities and is quite refreshing. First floor has been given a beach/sea makeover and has a projector for live screening too. Overall, loved the ambiance. Can go here for a romantic evening or a gathering with friends and colleagues.
Enchante Cafe Review – How is the food ?
Though this is a cafe, they have quite a wide variety of food, desserts and beverages on offer. We had a set menu on offer which consisted of some of the best items from each segment.
Good Starters and Mains
There was a good mix of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes on offer. For vegetarian, we started with the classic Caesar Salad. It was nicely done, however the Mayo sauce could have been toned down a little. Next we had Mozzarella Sticks along withe Spinach and Corn Bon Bon. The Mozzarella sticks were average but the Spinach and Corn Bon Bon was delicious. It was crispy out the outside and succulent inside. Right amount of flavors to it.
The next dish we had the Paneer Sizzler. Sizzlers are sizzlers, you can’t pretty much talk more about it. It had quite a few veggies and the Paneer was nicely done too. The last item was the Mumbai Masala Risotto. This was one of the finest Indianized version of Risotto I’ve had. A Must try for sure ! I also forgot to mention the nachos we had. They have quite a few of them on offer. Overall, quite happy with the starters and mains.
Desserts to die for
When you are at a patisserie, what do you expect ? A Flood of desserts. And that’s what we experienced literally. Have never seen a flurry of desserts like the one I saw here. The items we had included: Classic Opera, Sour Cheese Cake, Enchante Chocolate Cake, Pinacolada, Mango petite Gateau, Tiramisu, Raspberry and Pistachio Opera, Swiss Carrot Cake, Chocolate Pebble, Wild Berry Love, Chocolate Tart and Espresso & Caramel Gateau. Quite a lot isn’t it ?
Of all, the best presentation would be Pinacolada. It was a completely edible pastry. However it contained rum, so gave it a miss. Apart from that, loved the Chocolate Pebble. If you are a chocolate lover, this is a must try. Also the Classic Opera and Mango Petite Gateau were pretty nice too. I truly enjoyed the desserts available at Enchante Cafe. Aren’t these luscious pics doing just to my Enchante Cafe Review post ?
Delish Beverages
If the food and desserts were not enough, we were bamboozled with beverages too. We started with the regular Blue Angel which was ok. I mean you get it almost everywhere. Next we had a few milkshakes including Brownie Blast, Crazy Caramel, Choco Royal and Classic Fudge Chocolate. Of all these, I’d recommend you to try the Brownie Blast as well as the Crazy Caramel milk shake. Those were sweet, creamy and delicious.
For hot beverages, we had the Nutella Hot Chocolate, Enchante Latte and Cafe Mocha. The Nutella Hot chocolate was perfect for Nutella lovers. The Mocha was surely one of the finest I’ve had in recent times. However, if you are eating a lot of desserts, missing the beverages would be a smart choice 😉
Final Verdict: Enchante Cafe Review – Dessert lover’s paradise
The French are known for their baking expertise and when you name your cafe Enchante, you must abide by it. Enchante Cafe does total justice to it. Their dessert offering is exquisite and are delicious. Be it the classic Opera or the luscious Chocolate Pebble, they know their desserts. Food is also nice, exactly what you’d expect from a cafe. Overall, it’s a wonderful cafe and a must for a dessert lover. So that was all about my Enchante Cafe Review. Did you like it ? What’s you favorite dessert ?
