Sunday mornings are the only day when you can truly chill and take it easy. And Hyderbadis otherwise also take things light (it’s a Hyderabadi thing Light le lo which means take it easy) Waking up at 4 am and heading to a Dosa Bandi in Charminar isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. So if you fall into this group of people who love to relax on a Sunday, the Sunday brunch is made for you.
Join me in this blog post as I share my experience of having a relaxed Sunday Brunch by the pool at Aqua, The Park. It wasn’t my first time here and I’ve been here quite a few times at Aish and Verandah. This time I was invited by the chef to relish the newly done brunch.
Aqua at The Park
For the unaware, The Park is located in Somajiguda right after Yashoda hospitals and is one of the most iconic-looking hotel buildings in Hyderabad. It’s right in the heart of the city, looking out over the peaceful Hussain Sagar offering a panoramic view of the serene lake. The hotel has lots of rooms and restaurants including Aish and Verandah but the one that stands out is Aqua.
With an open-air, breezy setting by the pool, it commands one of the most breathtaking views in the city. Picture this: you, beneath the open sky, feeling the gentle breeze from Hussain Sagar, and indulging in delectable dishes. During the Sunday Brunch, you’ll find live counters and the entire atmosphere is infused with the irresistible aroma of mouthwatering food. It’s an experience that blends nature’s beauty and The Park’s architecture with Chef’s culinary delight.
Sunday Brunch By The Pool
The Sunday Brunch at Aqua is a gastronomic delight with its extensive variety. The variety of salads is quite impressive, featuring choices for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. My personal favourite was the glass noodles, and the grilled Paneer was simply delightful. Don’t miss the cheese platter, complete with crackers and fruits, for a delightful combination of flavours.
For starters we had everything from kebabs and Hummus and pita Bread to desi chaat and other delectable appetizers, there’s something to please every palate. Plus, there’s a special Kid’s counter offering croissants, doughnuts, and chocolates, making it a family-friendly affair.
When it’s time for the main course, Aqua doesn’t disappoint. With a diverse selection of Indian and continental dishes, you’ll find something to suit your taste. There was an exquisite spread of desi curries like Kofta, Paneer, and Bhindi to name a few. However, the Stuffed Baigan with a unique stuffing particularly stood out to me. All the curries and dals are expertly prepared, and they even offer a few Hyderabadi specialities inspired by Aish, including biryani, haleem, and kheema.
Additionally, you can get something from the live grill counters by the pool that serves up freshly grilled treats that are absolutely delicious. The Chef also obliged with a serving of Jackfruit Haleem from Aish, and it’s the BEST Vegetarian Haleem in Hyderabad!
Coming to the dessert spread, which is a true delight. Offering a wide array of both desi and videsi desserts, you’ll be spoiled for choice. From creamy pannacotta to decadent brulee, from scrumptious pastries to Indian classics like Mysore Pak, Rasmalai, and Anjeer Rolls, there’s something to satisfy every sweet tooth. I relished my Ras Malai along with the creamy Pannacotta which was delicious. There are also a couple of drinks that are part of the Sunday brunch. However, you’re always free to order some nice concoctions outside of the buffet too!
The Perfect Sunday Brunch By The Pool
In conclusion, the Sunday Brunch at Aqua, located within the iconic Park Hotel in Hyderabad, offers a spectacular dining experience like no other. The diversity of dishes and the uniqueness of the menu every Sunday make this brunch a true culinary adventure. From mouthwatering starters, an array of salads, and a special kids’ menu to a delectable main course that includes both Indian and continental delights, Aqua leaves no taste bud unsatisfied.
