Being a teetotaler and staying in Goa is quite similar to being a vegetarian and staying in Hyderabad. In the land of Biryanis and Haleems, there’s not much for vegetarians. But that doesn’t mean, there isn’t any ! I am a pure vegetarian and a teetotaler, a rare breed in today’s times ? If you too belong to this breed, drop a hi in comments ! I am staying in Hyderabad for about 5 years now and have visited lot of restaurants and cafes.
Though I’m a vegetarian, I visit all types of places that serve vegetarian food in Hyderabad with my friends. If I’m out with my family, I usually visit pure vegetarian restaurants. Having reviewed so many restaurants – 106 blog posts as per Zomato – I guess it’s right time to start the list of Top Vegetarian restaurants in Hyderabad.
The idea of his curated list of vegetarian restaurants in Hyderabad is to provide you with a single stop list for all vegetarian restaurants in Hyderabad. This list will be regularly updated as and when I visit a Vegetarian restaurant in Hyderabad. I may or may not have a separate blog post for it, but I’ll mention a gist of the restaurant in this list. To start with, I’ll share the list of few Vegetarian Restaurants in Hyderabad.

Tatva – Fine Dining Vegetarian Restaurant

Description: Tatva is one of the finest vegetarian restaurant in Hyderabad. Located in Jubilee Hills, the restaurant has classy ambiance and serves delicious food. Some of their starters are to die for especially the Til ki Tikki and Kamalkakdi ke Galauti. The restaurant is quite crowded on weekends, so make sure you have a prior reservation. Read my review.

Dakshin Mandapa – Taj Mahal Hotel

Description: Dakshin Mandapa is one of the good South Indian restaurants in Hyderabad. In fact the Taj Mahal group is known for their vegetarian offerings. This one serves an amazing dinner buffet. The menu keeps changing and you might find some delicious dishes on festive occasions. Read my review.

Veg Tokri – good vegetarian restaurant

Description: Veg Tokri is a good choice for a casual meal. They have outdoor as well as indoor seating. They some really good dishes on offer especially starters. The service is good but can become too much at times. I loved it when I was there. Read my review.

Smoky Pitara – pitara of vegetarian dishes

Description: Located on the main road right next to Tatva is Smoky Pitara. The restaurant serves buffet during lunch and only a la carte for dinner. The restaurant is small but they serve some really good dishes. Loved their version of Galauti Kebab and Dal Makhni. Read my review.

A’la Liberty – exciting pure vegetarian restaurant

Description: Located off the radar in Banjara Hills is A la liberty a spacious and comfortable pure vegetarian restaurant in Hyderabad. Serves both buffet and a la carte. I had tried their a la carte and was impressed by their dishes. The spring rolls are good and so is the baked rasgulla. Read my review.

Ohri’s Jiva Imperia – My go to vegetarian restaurant

Description: Ohri’s Jiva Imperia is one of the finest Vegetarian Restaurants in Hyderabad. This is an only-buffet restaurant that serves a lavish pure vegetarian buffet in Hyderabad. I’m a regular visitor here and will say that the food is pretty good. Though there are few hits and misses at times, the value for money for the food is pretty good. Read my review.

In Sept we had made a stopover at Hyderabad. My cousin who is a pure vegetarian does not eat from a kitchen where non veg & even egg is cooked. My hunt for such a hotel took us to Bikanerwala Boutique hotel ….. It was good.
