My newly discovered food joints

For me, travelling or getting out means exploring the place and getting to know it better. And the foremost places of interest on my lists are local restaurants aka dhabas. I feel that these are the places that serve the original local food of their respective places. Thanks to my friends who helped me discover these amazing food joints this time around. All the food-joints mentioned here are in Delhi / NCR.

  • Khan Chacha :

Well, many of you might have heard of this place already. For those of you who aren’t aware, this place is a great place for kebabs, biryani and mughlai food. There isn’t much for the vegetarians – their latest menu showed: Paneer Kebab, Aloo Kebab and Hariyali Kebab. These three items are also served with Roomali Rotis. As for the prices, its slightly on the higher side, 160Rs for a Hariyali Kebab Roll (incl. taxes) Read my review here.

  • Shri Ram Center Fast Food Hub

This is located in the Shri Ram Center for Arts, near Himanchal Bhawan, near Mandi House Metro Station. This is the canteen of the art center. It is a very small place, guess maybe around 20×20 feet ! Serves some yummy Chinese dishes: Chilly Paneer, Chilly Chicken, Chilly Potato, Fried Rice and Lemonade. The food is reasonably cheap and the quantity served is great. So if you are a Chinese lover, you should try this place.

  • Tau da Dhaba

Tau or (father’s elder brother 😛 ;)) has this amazingly small shop that serves some delicious desi khana. Some of the items served here include: Shahi Paneer, Mutter Paneer, Dal Makhni with Roti. Rajma Chawal, Kadhi Chawal, Thaali. The best part about this place is, how does he manage to serve so much food at such low prices ??!! A thaali costs 30 bucks which includes 2-3 tandoori roti, rice and three subzi/dal of your choice. You can’t ask for anything more ! This is situated in Noida. One can reach sector 18 Atta market and reach Vatika restaurant. From there walk straight through the parking area into those small gali that eventually lead to GIP Mall. And please dont expect this place to be of highest cleanliness and a big shop !

So theses were latest entrants to my list of food joints. Do share your views and this and you are most welcome to add places to this list ! Please suggest any good vegetarian restaurant in Delhi NCR.
