My Saputara trip was one of the best ones I’ve had in quite some time. Being a mountain person, I love spending time in the hills. In my last blog post, I spoke about our last day in Saputara where we explored the botanical garden and the mighty Gira waterfalls. If you haven’t already read my Complete Saputara Tour Guide make sure to give it a read. We had left Saputara at about three in the afternoon and began our journey to Ahmedabad. The distance is about 400 km as I mentioned in the earlier blog posts. And this journey from Saputara to Ahmedabad took us about 11 hours to complete.
On the way, we stopped at a couple of places to relish some Gujarati snacks before we left the beautiful state of Gujarat. We had some hot bhajias near Bharuch along with an awesome dinner near Vadodara. Read about our Ahmedabad Saputara Road Trip. We completed our dinner and zipped away on the Ahmedabad Vadodara Expressway. As we entered Ahmedabad I was hoping that the trip stretched longer than what it actually was. Frankly, I didn’t want to go home.
Our stay was arranged at Fortune Landmark Hotel Ahmedabad. I remember the first time I was at Fortune landmark hotel Ahmedabad was during a New Year party hosted by my dad’s office and that was more than a decade ago. In this blog post, I am going to talk about my experience at Fortune landmark hotel Ahmedabad.
Fortune landmark hotel Ahmedabad
Located at Ashram Road Ahmedabad, Fortune landmark hotel is one of the oldest hotels in the city – and part of the ITC brand. It is located in the heart of the city and is an upscale contemporary business hotel in Ahmedabad. The hotel offers great services and facilities along with their efficient service. It is located about 9 km from the Ahmedabad international airport and about 5 km from the Ahmedabad railway station. The hotel has 95 rooms out of which 64 as standard rooms and there are eight executive suites along with one presidential suite that has contemporary decor equipped with all modern amenities.
We reached the hotel at 2 in the night and all of us were completely drained out. Most of us were supposed to leave for our respective destinations the next morning so we just checked into our rooms and crashed. Fortunately, the room that was allocated to me was a presidential suite. So let me share with you my suite experience at Fortune landmark hotel Ahmedabad.
The Plush Presidential Suite
Our room was located on the eighth floor of the hotel and as I said it was the plush presidential suite, the only room in the entire hotel. As I opened the door and entered the room I found myself in the lap of luxury, a spacious living room with a huge TV at one side and a work desk overlooking Ahmedabad city.
The next section of the room had a dining table along with a refrigerator and a small washroom. This was my second time in a suite at a hotel. The last time I stayed in a suite was at Novotel HiTech City. The bedroom was quite spacious and had one single queen size double bed along with the table and chair again overlooking the beautiful Ahmedabad city from a huge window.
Most of the room had wooden flooring while the bedroom had complete carpet. Even the lights were pretty intricate and there were a lot of photo frames on the walls. Small things like a table lamp, notebook, pens, electric kettle were all present in the room. For a single person, the room is quite huge but if you are a family I am sure this is a very good place.
The bathroom also is quite well-equipped in fact it had a hairdryer which I need nowadays due to my long hair 😉 Even though the hotel is located right off the main road, the rooms are fairly quiet and comfortable. The noises from the street don’t reach the rooms which means you will get a good night’s sleep.
Dining at zodiac Fortune hotel Ahmedabad
The Fortune landmark hotel Ahmedabad has three restaurants Zodiac which is a 24-hour coffee shop Wind and Water which is an outdoor restaurant and the Earthen oven. Since we were on a trip organised by Gujarat tourism and India tourism, our rooms and the packages were booked by them. Hence the breakfast was included as part of the package and our breakfast was that Zodiac.
Zodiac coffee shop is located on the left as soon as you enter the Fortune hotel Ahmedabad. The place is lit up all the time and makes it a perfect place to click photos. I was down there by 7 to have my breakfast because you are moving on to our next destination – Adalaj stepwell.
The breakfast was a perfect mix of Indian and Continental dishes. A lot of variety from Gujarati cuisine. We had Poha, Patra and even Puri Shak, as part of the lavish breakfast bread. Who doesn’t like breakfast buffets at such great hotels? One of the things that I love in such a breakfast buffet is cereals with cold milk. The croissants were baked to perfection while Idli Sambar would have been a tad better. The person behind all this food is Chef Suresh Khanna who has been awarded as the chef of the year multiple times. And I was glad that I got to meet him in person and discuss food.
An Amazing Presedential Suite Experience
That’s all about my first experience at Fortune landmark hotel Ahmedabad. The place is located in the heart of the city and most of the shopping places, restaurants, malls are close to this property. No matter where you want to visit in Ahmedabad, you will find autos, cabs and buses from this property. While the property may look small from the outside it is fairly large from the inside. The plush rooms and the amazing hospitality is something that you always relate the ITC brand to.
Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Fortune landmark hotel Ahmedabad. In case you are in Ahmedabad ever and are looking for a good place which is located in the heart of the city and provides some good amenities along with great hospitality, you know where you should go to.
