India’s Largest Bloggers Trip organized by Gujarat Tourism

I had started blogging with the only aim to create content that is helpful for people. Whether it’s about food, travel or technology, the goal always was (and will remain) to help people. And any recognition that I got by way of blogging was only the icing on the cake.

From being invited to Bloggers panel discussions, to being quoted in newspapers, awarded the Best Blogger in Telangana to being invited by Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India and Gujarat Tourism to explore the state of Gujarat. I had never thought of doing all this when I started blogging, however, I’m glad that I’m a part of this now.

If you’ve been following me on Instagram you already know that I am currently exploring the state of Gujarat. While detailed blog posts are in the pipeline, in this blog post I’ll talk about the largest bloggers trip organized by Gujarat Tourism.

Event HighlightsLargest Bloggers Trip

The goal of this All India Influencer’s meet was to bring the best bloggers and influencers from all across India to Gujarat under one roof. While this event was just for a few hours, the following Familiarisation and Media (FAM) trip after this was exciting.

There were huge billboards and brandings across the venue – Narayani Heights, Gandhinagar. There was a red carpet organized where bloggers and influencers were interviewed. The setup was one of the grandest I’ve seen in recent times. The attendees apart from bloggers and influencers were government officials from the tourism department along with the heads of various tourism groups.

Vibrant Gujarat

The event started with a few videos that showcased the various tourist destinations in the state. From Ahmedabad’s Heritage Walk to Saputara, there were a lot of such attractions that were a part of this video. However, the one that stood out for me was the Statue of Unity. The video showed everything from conceptualization to the development and opening of the statute.

Leader’s Speak

The next few minutes were spent with some insightful talks from the leaders. Mr Venkatesan, Regional Director started the proceedings of the day. Apart from talking about Gujarat and travel, he emphasised how the travel landscape has changed over the years. It was great to learn that the government is thriving to leverage social media and put it to good use.

The following session by Arun Shrivastav who is also from the ministry showcased a deck with some of the most well-performing videos and posts on social media shared by users. While most of it was drone shots, we bloggers would have surely loved to see some regular photos as well. Lastly, it was great to see that government machinery was acknowledging the fact that bloggers and influencers are important stakeholders in promoting tourism.

Cultural Events followed by dinner

What event is complete without music and food? Even the largest blogger’s meet couldn’t do without it. We had dance performances that included Garba and raas by folk dancers. The dance was not only peppy but colourful, acrobatic and well-coordinated. There was also a dance performed by the tribals of The Dangs which left all of us in awe. What started as a simple dance ended with a human pyramid with women stealing the thunder.

The last bit of the event saw the stage open for dance for anyone. So I and my tribe and a few other bloggers also joined in and shook their legs. I enjoyed some Garba and matched the steps well – that’s what she said!

The food was a large spread that contained items from various cuisines. From Chinese starters like Spring Rolls to Indian Kebabs and Dal Roti, the menu was carefully curated to suit everyone’s palate. For desserts, we had the classic brownie with Vanilla ice cream Which also was nicely done.

Kicking off the FAM Trip

India’s largest bloggers meet was a thumping success if I can say. The event was nicely planned and all of us had a great time. I got to meet so many old friends and make new ones – a thing that I absolutely love about blogging. This post is almost a week late and that’s because I have been exploring Gujarat over the last few days and didn’t get a chance to breathe, let alone create blog posts.

Hence, over the next few weeks and blog posts, you’ll read my stories from Gujarat showcasing you the best of what the state has to offer. After all, kuch din toh guzariye Gujarat mein?

Note: I was invited by the Ministry of Tourism and Gujarat Tourism for this event and the entire trip to Gujarat was sponsored by them.
