Like many of you, travelling for me started quite early. Thanks to my dad who constantly was on the move. I’ve stayed across different cities in India and have a close connection with many of them. Most of my early childhood was spent in Gujarat, a few years in Goa, another few years in Maharashtra, followed by Karnataka, Delhi NCR and currently Telangana. I’ve started documenting my travel journeys over the last 6-8 years alongside talking about food. Well because Food and Travel often go hand in hand. I am one of the Hyderabad Travel Blogger with an active blog. (Read: Instagrammers vs Bloggers)
Over the years that I have travelled to a lot of different places. Talk about big cities, tier 2 towns or villages, I’ve been there. I prefer road trips any day – be it bus, car or two-wheeler. Trains are another way I love to travel, but my full-time work doesn’t give me the luxury of time & hence train travels have reduced drastically over the years. Flights are the most common way I commute just because of time.
Who is a Travel Blogger?
A travel blogger according to me is someone who not only loves to travel but also loves to share their experiences. I believe that there’s more learning from travel experience than classrooms. A good travel blogger is someone who can take me along with them on their journeys. People who can bring to life their experiences. People who love to explore and visit offbeat places. I’m fortunate to have met some amazing travel bloggers over the years and many of them are an inspiration.
Places I’ve visited
As I mentioned earlier, travelling started quite earlier for me. My first solo trip (without my parents) was from Mumbai to Howrah in 2004 to shoot for Bournvita Quiz Contest. I travelled on a train, alone for the first time ever. Being in a boarding school, I did a lot of travel, however, the documentation started very late. From visiting little-known places like Idar (Gujarat), Barmer (Rajasthan), Pachmarhi (Madhya Pradesh) to visiting typical tourist places like Jaipur, Shimla, Munnar, there are quite a few destinations that I’ve documented. Being a Hyderabad Travel Blogger, I’ve visited quite a few places nearby like Anantagiri, Visakhapatnam, and Suryalanka Beach to name a few.
Even in India, there are a lot of places that I want to visit. Exploring the Himalayas in Ladakh, seven sisters in North East India, go back to Kolkata, visit Kaziranga in Assam, and experience the hills of Kodaikanal to name a few. By now I guess you should have realized that I’m a mountain person 😉
Like every other travel blogger, there are a lot of places on my bucket list. In fact, I haven’t travelled international yet. Unless Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan can be considered an international trip. I want to visit Paris (because I’ve studied French as a subject in school and college), Iceland (to witness the Aurora Borealis), Dubai (to feel the vibes of an international city), Australia (to see the 12 apostles and visit the MCG) and Machu Pichu (to experience the ruins)
PS: This bucket list is tentative, the places will keep on getting added and the only reason this is here is that I can work hard to explore these places.
