One of the best parts of staying in the capital is that you get access to some of the most exquisite events from World Book Fair to India International Trade Fair. The venue for most of the event is the huge Pragati Maidan which is easily accessible thanks to the Delhi Metro for having a station there. One such exclusive event the capital boasts of is the Auto Expo. It is a fantastic event for car and bike lovers and is held every year in the month of February. Previously it used to be held at the Pragati Maidan but from the last few years it is being held at the Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The main Auto Expo is at the Expo Mart and the Auto Component show is held at Pragati Maidan I’m glad to have witnessed the expo at both the places !
Auto Expo is a yearly affair of cars and bikes and of course auto lovers. The event brings in some of the best cars in the world to India for a span of 5 days. In fact one of the highlights of this event are the international cars the event boasts of. Brands like the Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche are some of the top-line brands that one can see at the expo. From Indian makers we have our very own Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Mahindra who display the finest cars they have on offer. The event is not only about passenger cars. You’ll find a dedicated section for public transport and utility vehicles including buses and trucks. For attraction, most of the foreign brands bring in some of the most exclusive cars which most of us would have seen in photos only. Some of these include the Formula 1 cars by Renault and the Chevrolet Bumblebee.
The event is not only about cars, there is in fact a separate building for two wheelers. One of the highlights are the foreign makers like Harley Davidson which is a regular exhibitor. Apart from these there is Honda, Yamaha, TVS, Hero and Bajaj who alongside other manufacturers showcase their famous and upcoming vehicles. The event also has a special area for designers where students from NIT, IITs come and showcase their automobile designing skills.
The event is a great platform to launch new vehicles as everyone from the automobile industry are present here. Some of the most awaited launch of the Auto Expo 2016 are as follows:
- Maruti will unveil the Vitara Brezza – you would have seen the latest ad of the car
- Tata will be showcasing their Nexon, new variant of Safari along side the launch of their most awaited model – Tata Zica.
- Mahindra on the other hand will unveil the XUV Aero which is a concept car
- Renault will showcase the new Renault Kwid and Duster.
- Toyota will unveil a new model of its most famous passenger car – Toyota Innova.
- As for Bikes, The most awaited TVS–BMW will be unveiled by TVS and BMW
- Honda will unveil new models of their existing bikes and scooters.
