This year was a dream year. I know I mentioned that last year as well (2024 Blogging Report Card), but 2025 was really one that I had never imagined.
Looking back at my 2024 post, I remember writing about my heartfelt desire to take my parents on their first international trip – a promise I wasn’t sure I could keep anytime soon, given work demands and travel restrictions. But in February 2025, I did it. I took them to Dubai, and it was nothing short of magical. Seeing my mom experience her first international airport was genuinely emotional – a milestone I’ll cherish forever.
At the same time, I knew that with my commitments to KubeCon, including speaking at conferences across continents and co-chairing KubeCon India in my hometown of Hyderabad, my blogging frequency would take a hit. Travelling for work, preparing talks, and managing the speaking circuit would leave little time for writing. So, I braced myself for a year where the numbers might not be as impressive as in the past.
But this report card is a tradition I’ve kept alive for 10 years now, and I wasn’t going to break that streak. So, here it is: the Socialmaharaj Blogging Report Card 2025.
Before I get into the Socialmaharaj Blogging Report Card 2025, I want you to have a look at the previous years’ Blogging Report Cards: 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, and 2016.
Feel free to dive into those archives for a walk down memory lane and see how Socialmaharaj has evolved over the years!
Thank You!
This year has been rather tough for the blog, not so much from the stats and numbers point of view, but from my availability and consistency of posting regularly. Over the last few years, I haven’t been able to maintain the consistency that I had earlier. But even then, the blog was able to reach a wide audience, and that ensured that I kept writing and sharing informational content.
This year, I heard from readers who used my Hyderabad travel guide to plan their first visit to the city, and others who reached out after reading my road trip posts to ask for tips on routes and stays. Some readers even enquired about my experience with the Tata Punch and shared photos of their new cars!
These moments remind me why I keep writing, even when the schedule is tight.
So, from the bottom of my heart – Thank You!

Socialmaharaj Blogging Report Card 2025
For all the nerds, all the data and numbers represented here are collected from Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs or SEMRush and presented.
- Impressions: With 22.6 million search impressions (↑31% from 2024!), we clocked more than 1.8 million per month in 2025! This growth, despite fewer posts, was a pleasant surprise and shows that evergreen content continues to attract readers.
- Unique Visitors: We saw ~250,000 unique visitors (↑4% from 2024) this year – again, growth despite a reduced publishing frequency. It’s encouraging to see more people discovering the blog organically.
- Blog Posts: I managed to write only 55 blog posts this year, marginally down from 61 in 2024, but considerably down from the 100 posts I wrote in 2022/2023. This was largely due to my extensive work travels and international speaking engagements that demanded most of my time.
- AI Features: Another exciting highlight – the blog was featured in a few AI chat queries this year. It’s a good sign that the content is being recognised by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claudes, etc., an evolving discovery channel for many readers.
I’ll be honest – the reduced posting frequency wasn’t what I initially planned. But I’m framing it positively: rather than rushing to publish more, I focused on quality over quantity. The posts I did publish were comprehensive guides or deep dives, crafted to offer real value. Sometimes, less is more.
2025 – Beyond Imagination
If 2024 was a year of steady growth, 2025 was a year that went way beyond my imagination – both personally and professionally. It was a year of milestones, big shifts, and incredible experiences that have shaped me in ways I’m still processing.
Professionally, it was the year I transitioned from being just an attendee at KubeCon events to becoming a speaker, and then a co-chair – a journey that’s taken years of dedication and passion. Personally, fulfilling promises to my family and travelling across four continents made me realise how precious every moment is.
In this blog post, I’ll take you through the highlights of 2025: my global speaking journey, the unforgettable trip with my parents to Dubai, and the whirlwind of travels across Europe, South America, the Middle East, and Asia. Plus, I’ll share how I balanced it all and what’s coming up next.
Global Speaking Journey
2025 was a landmark year for my speaking career, especially within the Kubernetes community. Starting at KubeCon India 2025 in Hyderabad – my home city! I took on the role of co-chair for the event. You can read more about it here: KubeCon India 2025 Hyderabad.
Being able to help shape a global tech event in the city where I started my corporate journey was deeply rewarding. It was a chance to showcase Hyderabad’s vibrant tech scene to the world and welcome fellow Kubernetes enthusiasts to our doorstep.
Beyond India, I spoke at KubeCon London, sharing insights on platform engineering with an international audience. The energy and diversity at that event were truly inspiring. You can read more about my speaking experience at KubeCon Europe. Then came KubeCon Atlanta – another incredible experience, which I documented here: KubeCon Atlanta Experience & Speaking. Speaking in the US brought new perspectives and connections, as always.

A personal highlight was delivering my first-ever keynote at KCD Sri Lanka – I just realised that I never posted about it on the blog! Standing in front of a packed room, sharing my story and expertise, was a dream come true. It symbolised the full circle from being an attendee, to speaker, to co-chair – a journey fueled by persistence and passion. I’m grateful to the Kubernetes community for these opportunities.
A Promise Fulfilled
One of the most heartfelt moments of 2025 was fulfilling a promise I made in last year’s report card – to take my parents on their first international trip. In February, we flew to Dubai for an unforgettable week. This was my mom’s very first international trip, and witnessing her awe at the Burj Khalifa, the Global Village, and the dazzling Dubai Mall was priceless.

Dubai’s blend of ultramodern architecture and traditional culture made it an exciting destination for all of us. We explored the old Al Fahidi neighbourhood, savoured Middle Eastern delicacies, and even took a dhow cruise on Dubai Creek. Beyond the sightseeing, it was the emotional significance that made the trip truly special – sharing new experiences as a family, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Four Continents, Countless Memories
If 2024 was about dreaming, 2025 was about doing – visiting four continents in 365 days and collecting stories from corners of the world I’d only read about before.
- Europe: I explored the rich history and vibrant culture of Edinburgh, London, and Istanbul. From the cobbled streets of Edinburgh to the bustling markets of Istanbul, every city has its unique charm. I wrote a detailed itinerary for my London-Edinburgh trip – feel free to check it out here: 9 Day London-Edinburgh Itinerary.

- South America: Peru was a highlight – visiting Lima, Cusco, and the iconic Machu Picchu was a bucket-list experience. The blend of Incan history, vibrant markets, and breathtaking landscapes was surreal.
- Middle East: A brief yet impactful trip to Abu Dhabi added a new dimension to my travels, exploring the capital’s cultural gems and futuristic architecture.
- Asia: Sri Lanka was a deeply enriching experience – visiting Colombo, Galle, and Kandy. From serene temples to colonial forts and lush hill stations, Sri Lanka captivated me. I also spoke about my KubeCon Atlanta experience in detail (linked above).
While many of these experiences are documented on Instagram, I’ve yet to bring most of them to the blog – setting up an exciting 2026 backlog!
Balancing Act
Juggling a full-time Developer Advocate role with blogging isn’t easy, especially when international travel is a big part of your job. I won’t deny it – 2025 was a year where travel and speaking engagements took priority over blog consistency. That also affected collaborations from brands on Instagram, which meant I was out fewer at hotels in the city because either I wasn’t in the city, or my numbers on Instagram are garbage for the PRs.
Instagram became my go-to for sharing quick stories and highlights in real-time, while blog posts took a backseat. Not everything makes it to the blog immediately, but I’m documenting experiences as much as possible. The content backlog is building up – Peru, Abu Dhabi, Istanbul, and more – but that’s okay. Quality is still my north star.
Balancing work, travel, and blogging is a continuous learning process. Some weeks I nail it, others not so much. But the key is to keep pushing forward without losing the joy of sharing.
What’s in Store for 2026?
Looking ahead, my biggest priority is tackling the growing content backlog. Here’s the plan:
- Finish Peru travel posts covering Lima, Cusco, and Machu Picchu.
- Complete the Atlanta trip coverage.
- Write about the Abu Dhabi experience.
- If time permits, add posts on Istanbul and Cappadocia.
- If time STILL permits, finally get to my 2024 Switzerland and Italy trips.
All these destinations have Instagram highlights, but they need proper blog posts for those who prefer deep dives over quick stories.
My 2026 goals include:
- Being more consistent with Instagram posting – not just stories but feed posts as well.
- Optimising content to get featured more in AI responses and queries.
- Finding a better balance between work, travel and blog post creation.
- Possibly establishing a rhythm for publishing fresh content versus catching up on the backlog.
How will I manage all this? I don’t have a concrete answer yet, but that’s part of the journey – embracing uncertainty and striving for progress.
Closing Section
Thank you once again for your continued support throughout this incredible journey. 2025 was more about experiences than blog posts, but both matter deeply. The stories, the travels, the milestones – they all shape the blog in ways numbers alone can’t capture.
As we step into 2026, I wish you all a year filled with adventure, growth, and meaningful connections. I look forward to sharing more with you and hope you’ll continue to be part of this journey.
