Flashback 2017 – all that happened in 2017 at Socialmaharaj

I’m sure you would have guessed what this post is going to be about. This will be a flashback post of all that I’ve done in the past year. 2017 has been quite an eventful year for Socialmaharaj be it for the travel tales or the foodie tales. I traveled to new places, ate new dishes and more over met some amazing people this year. In this post,  I’ll share all the events that happened this year for you to read and enjoy. Here is Flashback 2017 at Socialmaharaj.

Eventful January – Lucknow, New Phone

Last year in December, I visited Lucknow and that extended to the first week of 2017 as well. During my short stay in Lucknow, I had some delicious food at Bati Chokha and Bun Maska with hot Chai at the famous Sharmaji Ki Chai. Apart from the travel in January, I also got my new phone – One Plus 3T – and I gave a quick review of the phone as well as the Spigen Cover that I’m still using. Almost a year with OP3T, wondering which one should I buy now ? One Plus 5T or wait for the One Plus 6 ? What do you feel ? Mention your suggestions in the comments below.

Not so happening February

February didn’t have much travel involved – rather no travel. However I did get a bunch of unique and healthy chocolates by Jagger. The company uses no sugar and only jaggery in their products. Well this was tasty indeed. Apart from this, one of the most visited post of 2017 was the IPL Auction postlive post that I did. Further, I was also a part of Behrouz Biryani’s Food Blogger Connect program, tried their Zaikerdar Paneer Biryani. Loved it!

Foodie Fun & Launch of The Math Game in March

March was a Foodie month where I had a handful meals at restaurants. Started with the Waterside Cafe at Taj Banjara followed by lunch at Absolute Barbecue. One of my another most read post Ustraa vs Beardo was published this month too. It wasn’t a sponsored post, but I thought to share my feedback. And glad this is still the top post on Google Search. The best part about March was the launch of my second Android App – The Math Game. This is the first Android Game that I’ve developed. If you haven’t already downloaded it, get it here.

Travelling again in April

April was a travel month again. I had travelled to New Delhi from Hyderabad. There we decided to embark on a quick road trip to Amritsar. We had darshan at the pious Golden Temple and obviously the delicious langar. I also visited the famous restaurant chain – Haveli – in Jalandhar. During April I was also a part of Ford India’s Great Ford Endeavour Drive. The drive was exciting and the car is a beast. Have a look at the video below.

May – the not so happening time

May was a rather quite time in my Flashback 2017 post. There wasn’t much that happened in May. I did take my first Ola Bike Ride in Hyderabad and is still one of the most read posts of 2017 on the blog. It was during May that I visited Chachaji Vada Pav in Sindhi Colony. Trust me, this is the best place for Vada Pav in Hyderabad.

Visiting Nanded in June

June was a travel month again. I along with a couple of my friends visited the holy city of Nanded. I wasn’t aware of the significance of the place in Sikhism until I visited it. Gurudwara Hazur Sahib is one of the finest Gurudwara that I’ve visited. Also visited the Kandhar Fort near Nanded. Wish it was paid more attention by the tourism department.

July – The Best of the lot – Ooty, Kochi, Tata Nexon, Royal Enfield

July was probably the most exciting and eventful part of Flashback 2017 – the highlight of flashback 2017 post. I was delighted to have collaborated with Royal Enfield. Their new line of Riding Gear is simply superb. In the mid part of July, I visited the Queen of Hills – Ooty. A short 3 day trip to Ooty was a great one. From the Botanical Garden to Pine Forest and the Nilgiris Mountain Train, Ooty was fabulous. In the last few days of the month, I was invited to Kochi to experience Tata Motor’s new car – Tata Nexon. We drove this magnificent car from Kochi to Idduki through the curves and bends of the ghats. I did make so many new friends during this trip !

Quiet August

August was then I got my Selfie stick delivered by AliExpress. This Bluetooth Selfie stick with tripod by Xiaomi is not available in India and is one of the most read posts on the blog this year. I was also a part of Ovenstory’s Food Blogger connect program. They have some unique pizza combinations, only if their base was better.

My Friend Alexa in September – All About Blogging

September was all about the My Friend Alexa campaign that I take part yearly. This year I’d say I was least prepared but still decided to give it a shot. The month was all about Blogging Tips for everyone. Based on my experiences I shared few tips on Blog Hosting, Page Speed and much more. The most read post however was about configuring and using Google Analytics.

October was all about being at home

The first month of the last quarter of the year was a no travel month. I did visit a couple of restaurants in Hyderabad, but that’s it. Also I wrote a post about Food Panda and Swiggy and this is again one of the most read posts on the blog. I was frustrated about the service by Foodpanda so had to pen this down. Also in October, I moved my entire email to Google Apps for Work. So there were posts about GSuite – it’s benefits, installation and migration.

Khwaja mere Khwaja – Ajmer Sharif in November

November was a travel month again – I just love travelling ! The year started off with a visit to Jaipur to attend a family function. However for some unavoidable reason, the function got postponed and I got a chance to visit Garib Nawaz Dargah Sharif in Ajmer. Ajmer Dargah was long pending on my bucket list, and I was blessed to have gotten a chance to seeks blessings of the almighty. Also I visited the famed Pushkar lake too. Further I also got a chance to meet Kapil Dev, during the Wonder Cement’s Saath Saath Cricket Tournament launch in New Delhi.

All’s Well That Ends Well – December

December started with a blogger’s meet at SodaBottleOpenerWala in Hyderabad. This was followed by an amazing surprise by Urby – a classy Passport Holder. And thanks to the meteoric rise of Bitcoins, I wrote a post about Bitcoins and How to Earn Bitcoins in India. Again one of the most read post on the blog. I also wrote about the Instagram trend 2017 Best Nine photo grid.

So that was all about Flashback 2017 on socialmaharaj. The year was quite eventful as you read. Also I did become quite active on Instagram and the fraternity has received me well. Do follow me there too. This will be my penultimate post of 2017. The last post will be the ceremonial Report Card post that I’ve done in 2015 and 2016. I’m working on designing the Infographic and hope you’ll like it. I’ve learnt a bit of Adobe Illustrator as well in the process. That’s it about 2017, hoping for an even better 2018.
